Colpa Press is a small concept based line of paper goods based in San Francisco, CA. It all started when Carissa Potter (carissapotter.com) met Luca Antonucci (itwillbeok.com) in graduate school. First semester, 2008, Carissa saw Luca moving into his studio space across from hers and fell in love. Without knowing Luca, Carissa asked him to be in a video where she told him that she liked him. The video was a disaster and they both ended up being best friends. They started Colpa Press in 2010 when Luca was awarded a fellowship at Kala Art Institute. Luca and Carissa like to work from ideas first, then decide what form of printing would execute the concept best. Working in letterpress, screen, glicee, and intaglio, Colpa Press also invites other artists to have their ideas actualized. They have done pop-up shops, short run print series, art cards, book editions, etc. Both founders graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2010 with their masters in fine art. Luca has shown work at the San Francisco Arts Commission, Stanford Cubberley Auditorium, Culturia Art Institute, and has an upcoming solo-show at Cain Schulte Gallery in Feburary 2012. Carissa currently is working on her first solo show at Wire & Nail Gallery, in the past she has shown at SomArts, E6 Gallery, 111 Minna and Treehouse Gallery.
